Pippin: A Landmark Production by City of Lights Theatre & Cabaret
The City of Lights Theatre & Cabaret is set to present its inaugural full-scale musical, "Pippin," from July 24-27 at the Perry Theatre at Aurora University. Following four successful years of cabaret performances and significant community fundraising, this nonprofit organization is excited to embark on a new artistic venture.
Dan Keller, a West Aurora High School alumnus, will star as Pippin, the ambitious prince on a quest for meaning. The cast includes Alina Dukala as the Leading Player, guiding Pippin through his journey, and Rowan Currie as Catherine, who helps him find true happiness. Additional notable performers include Luke Rahtjen as Charles, Liz Hutchinson as Fastrada, and Sharon Lindemann as Berthe.
Directed by local artists Kirsten Currie Tait and Grace Currie, "Pippin" features a captivating score by Stephen Schwartz and choreography inspired by Bob Fosse. This production aims to provoke thought about the balance between ambition and meaningful relationships. Join us for this significant moment in Aurora's arts scene.
